Hello, we are Bain Family Bernedoodles.  We are a small, family-based breeder in southern middle Tennessee, just north of Huntsville, AL.  We live on a 15-acre farm and raise our Bernedoodles in our home, as pets and a part of the family.  I’m Keith; Tricia and I have been married since 1992.  Tricia teaches 5th grade science and I’m an engineer. We have three children: McKayla, Carrington, and Coleman.  McKayla is married and lives in Paris, Tennessee.  Carrington is a senior in college and is engaged to be married, and Coleman is a senior in high school.

We have been interested in breeding dogs for a few years, but our busy family life and work travel requirements made the timing difficult.  By 2019, our children were more independent, and their activities had slowed enough that we decided the time was right for us to focus on our goal of launching our dog breeding business.

We had considered several breeds that we admired, but one breed really stood out to us. One of our favorite family activities is snow skiing, and on our skiing trips to Colorado over the years, we were introduced to the beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog, so called Berners.  We thought the Berner had such a unique and handsome appearance with its luxurious, tri-colored coat and sturdy build. We also really liked their intelligence and confident, gentle demeanor. However, we were hesitant because of their tendency for shedding and some health risks that are common to the Bernese Mountain Dog. Through our research, though, we found that the Bernedoodle provides a perfect solution to both of those issues. In fact, the Bernedoodle takes the best of the Bernese Mountain Dog and the poodle and results in a robust hybrid with a strikingly beautiful presence, a hypoallergenic low-shedding coat, and better health than either breed. As we learned more about this amazing hybrid between the Bernese Mountain Dog and the poodle, we knew the Bernedoodle would be the perfect breed for our family. There are so many other wonderful characteristics documented for the Bernedoodle, and our experience with Nala, Emmie, Koda and Ollie has certainly confirmed our research. We have found the Bernedoodle to be an amazing family dog: friendly, affectionate, loyal, intelligent, playful, funny, and certainly beautiful.
